We are always amazed when dogs come to us from a rather difficult background and have the most wonderful disposition. He has love to give for everyone. There are not enough words of praise to convey how amazing Zack is. You just have to meet him.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Personality Easy and lovable. Wants to be with his people. Everybody's friend.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good with Dogs.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Volunteer/staff favorite.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Takes treats gently.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Neat in his kennel.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good Genes. Both biological parents were very nice dogs with good manners. Sugar, hold the spice, everything nice.
📖Background : One owner from puppyhood. Recently lost his home, his hooman, his dog Mom and dog Dad and doggy friends he lived with through no fault of his own. He is heartbroken and misses everyone but still has a smile for you. He is anxious to get out of his kennel and be with you. He stands at the door and hopes you pick him next for the walk. He's the kind of dog you go back to before you leave because you know he will want to say goodbye to you and you know you just want to give him one more treat and head scratch. You miss him when you leave. He's that kind of gentle soul that at leaves an imprint on your heart and you see his big smile in your head as you fall off to sleep. We hope for all our dogs they get great homes but some more than others you want to have steady love that will last and a special hooman that will take care of them. More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
