My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!

Wyatt is the ultimate stick-to-you dog. He wants to be with his person or people at all times. He looks for approval and loves to be petted. Wyatt was found running between a couple of farms and at times was found lying with the chickens, so he gets along fine with chickens. He knows a couple of commands, is very smart and has already improved his leash-walking skills. Wyatt is high energy and would benefit from being with someone who is active.

Wyatt is gentle – a total “love bug.” He is apprehensive about going out to potty at night and wants to come right back in afterwards. After being tucked in with pillows on the sofa, which he absolutely loves, Wyatt sleeps 6-8 hours and then cries to alert someone that he needs to potty.

This pup will do well with other dogs or as an only dog. Just be prepared to lavish love and be loved once you’re his people. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. Wyatt just needs someone who falls in love with him and is also able to adopt him

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please go directly to www.almosthomeohio.org for an application. Once the application is submitted, our adoption team can discuss the information on the application with you to determine if one of our dogs would be a good fit for your home. Lastly, a home visit will be done either by one of our volunteers or another reputable rescue volunteer in your area. We do adopt out of state, but it is up to the adopter to come meet and take the dog home. Sound like a lot to go through for a dog? It really isn't as complicated as it seems and it's the best way to ensure a good match. Please contact adoptions@almosthomeohio.org with any additional questions you may have after reviewing the information on our website.

More about this rescue

Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio is made up of a small (but growing) group of enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs. Our background is with purebred collies and collie mixes but on occasion, we have other "family friendly" breeds. If you are searching for a collie, we'd like to help you find a wonderful companion that fits your family's lifestyle. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They have also been tested and are negative for heartworm and are on heartworm preventative.
