My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Cinnabon! He arrived to DPR along with several other guinea pigs when his owner could no longer care for him. He has such a pretty grey coat and is one of the more unique colors we have seen! He's about 6 months old. We thought it was so cute how he was just lounging on our lap with his legs stretched out. He's a cutie for sure! He's a sweet guy and will make a great addition to your home!

All our guinea pigs see the vet for a wellness visit and nail trim  prior to adoption.

Guinea pigs have wonderful personalities- they are gentle and we have yet to come across any who bite, and they keep a daytime schedule! They form close bonds with their people, similar to cats and dogs. Did you know they are able to recognize people based on scent, sound and sight?! These sweet animals make wonderful pets!

If you are interested in adopting, pleas fill out a 'Guinea Pig Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms

   Adoption fee is: $30

Can’t adopt? Consider donating! We are always in need of hay, pellets and guinea pig enrichment!

This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care.

*Please note - we do not do on-site meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the guinea pig's foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the guinea pig. You can pick your guinea pig up 'curb side'. Guinea pigs can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *

DPR guinea pigs receive a vet check up prior to adoption!

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.

More about this rescue

Visit our site at www.DelawarePuppyRescue.org if you are interested in one of our pets.

DPR was established in 2004 as a 501(c) non profit organize and an all volunteer rescue organization. We are not a shelter. We rescue both cats and dogs. We care for these pets in our foster homes until proper and stable homes are found through a multi-step adoption process. Our ultimate goal is to match families with our pets so that they live out their lives in loving, educated, safe homes for the remainder of their lives. Our additional goals in rescue are to educate the public in the importance of spaying/neutering and exposing the truth behind pet store puppys and the horrors of puppy mills.
