My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lila is 10 months old, 52lbs and suspected to be pure Belgian Malanois. This elegant girl walks a little like a dressage horse with her tall frame and slender build, but morphs quickly into a bouncy bunny rabbit when she plays with other dogs.

She’s deferential to older dogs and polite with the resident Chihuahuas in her foster home. Lila was found running in Dodger Stadium, thought to be dumped, but has settled into her foster home well. She is crate and house trained and walks nicely on leash.

As is typical for the Malinois breed, she is connected, intelligent and is eager to learn new things. We believe she’s a highly trainable dog who’s interested in connecting with people and dogs. With new people, she’s cautious and curious, but once you’re friends, she’s loving and sweet. We think she would do best in a home with other dogs that can help her adjust to her new home.

More about this rescue

We are a group of volunteers and rescuers combining our skills to help fosters get a dog out of the shelter! The dogs in our program have begun house, crate, and leash training. Our fosters follow a handful of house rules. The transition to a new home is easiest for your dog when these structures are carried over for some time and privileges are gradually introduced. This helps minimize anxiety and behavioral issues.
