My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There is an adorable video of me on ACC's Instagram! Click here to experience the cuteness!

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy!

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.

Oyster's Foster Writes: Oyster is a true pearl among dogs! Energetic, spunky, and---oh my gosh---those EARS! Oyster has made tremendous progress while in foster care. She has learned several refocusing cues---including "leave it" and "watch me"---to help her manage her excitement and anxiety on walks. She now walks with poise and confidence and no longer exhibits leash-biting, (which was a symptom of her nervousness being in new environments). She loves to romp in tall grass and knock over coffee cups standing on the sidewalk. She will pounce on anything that moves, including feathers and leaves blowing by in the wind. She has a little underbite that is very endearing, and one of the sweetest pittie smiles on the planet! Seeing as she is still a puppy working hard to master doggie etiquette, this adorable baby shark would thrive in a home with a single puppy parent without children or other pets---ideally someone with previous dog experience and a personality as quirky and wonderfully weird as her's! Oyster is house-trained and content when left alone. But being a young dog, having a dog mom or dad who can stay home with her for most of the day would be her dream! She would benefit from a low-traffic household that is organized and routine-oriented to help grow her confidence and make her feel safe, which is key for Oyster. Having a fenced-in yard to sniff around in would also be a big plus! In return, Oyster is a loving, trusting, loyal companion who will strive to be the best dog she can be. She will stick like velcro by your side and thank you for choosing her with unconditional love, lots of snuggles, and an insatiable eagerness to please!
