My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I have lived with cats.

I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

My foster writes: Curious, playful and friendly, little Rocko is a true delight! This calico kitty is as sweet as she is beautiful and has been known to snuggle right up to strangers. Her happy little yelps when her food is being served are sure to brighten up your day! She is a tidy litter box user and enjoys a wide variety of toys. Like most New Yorkers, she especially appreciates a window with a good view!

A volunteer writes: Rocko's previous person said she likes to nod her head in time with her friends. I can totally see this for Rocko because making friends comes so naturally to her. She seems to effortlessly reach into her bag of tricks and then spiritedly present the most fun ideas. Showing affection is probably her love language and watching her hop over to nuzzle is probably mine. Rocko will headbutt and lean, knead and snuggle. She's curious about everything going on in Adoptions, so she will take breaks from cuddles here and there to consider things before returning to her friends. Rocko has lived with other cats and came to us with radiant notes detailing how empathetic she is with those around her, seeming to intuitively know how they feel, which is, in my opinion, a top quality in a friend.
