My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am a sweet, social, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home!

What do you get when you cross a cat with a couch? A cat-potato! And that's me to a T!

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

I have been known to shower my favorite people in love!

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

Lucky appreciates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. She will likely need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred AND be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.

A volunteer writes: Lucky had it all: a home of her own, owners who appreciated her loving ways, and a sofa to curl up on and wile away the days. But then her people had to move to a no-pets-allowed situation, and she's now bunking at the Care Center. It's a tough adjustment for older gals like Lucky, a naturally shy cat who prefers when humans take a go-slow approach during meet and greets. Once she knows you're a potential friend, Lucky will happily lean in for cheek rubs and petting sessions, showing off her calm demeanor and respectful personality. Lucky was described by her former family as a shy-at-first couch potato who loves to rub her face against yours. Our behavior team agreed, finding her to be a relaxed, curious, sweet girl who would be a great fit in most households. Meet lady Lucky today on 110th Street!
