My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Turnip is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee!**

Age: 3 years
Weight: 2.47kg / 5.45lbs
Breed: Lop mix

Say hello to Turnip, the shy bun still learning about people. Turnip came to the Calgary Humane Society through no fault of her own when her previous owners were no longer able to care for her. Now she's looking for a patient and experienced furever home for her to live out the rest of her life.

Turnip is still gaining confidence around people, and can be a bit particular about her things, liking them just so. As such, she will need the time and care to learn to trust new people. Her former foster parent says food is the way to her heart though, so with a good hay snack she might let you say hello.

To help her thrive, it's essential to provide Turnip with a spacious, bunny-proofed area where she can free roam and explore. A proper diet of hay, fresh greens, and limited pellets will keep her healthy, while enrichment activities like tunnels, toys, and digging boxes will keep her curious mind engaged. Come meet Turnip at the Calgary Humane Society today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
