Here's what the humans have to say about me:
What about Bob? Well, he is just amazing!! Bob is great with people and loves food but is gentle when taking treats. He is a smart boy and knows sit and getting the hang of lay down. All our dog walkers have glowing reports on his leash manners and gentle nature. He loves to chase balls but is not great at retrieving them. He enjoys rolling in the cool grass and is a hoot to watch! Bob is 2-3 years old and came in as a stray covered in fleas which caused him to lose some fur. With flea treatments and a few medicated baths, Bob is looking so much better! Due to stray hold, his neuter, and staffing issues we have not had him on a doggy playdate, but he is very eager in a good way to meet new dogs in the kennel area and we will soon introduce him to another dog and cats too. He is a very chill guy and we do not expect issues, but would do a dog-to-dog introduction if you have a dog. Will update this once we have had him with another dog.
Adoption fee-$225
Due to the strict animal import laws in MA, we cannot adopt to MA residents.
We are open Wed-Sat from Noon to 4 for walk-ins. If you want to be approved to adopt same-day go to our website spfldhumane.org and fill out an application. If you have a vet you must contact them to permit them to speak to us before we can process it.

More about this shelter
We're a small shelter in Vermont covering 11 towns in Windsor County. We have a small but very dedicated staff, and an active volunteer program. We have been rescuing cats and dogs since our inception in 1941, when a wonderful woman turned her barn into a shelter. Since then we've grown quite a bit and have recently redone our entire kennel area - we have sun tubes for natural light, radiant heat in the floors, a music program and an aromatherapy program. All through the generous donations of the public. Our cats live comfortably in community cat rooms where they are free to roam and climb and play - one cat room even has a fully fenced outdoor enclosure. We have acres of field for dog walking, and a small agility course set up in an outdoor kennel. We have a large puppy room, and a larger still puppy play area outside.
