Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rosie came to us as an owner surrender. Her owner was told they had too many dogs at the place they are living so they contacted us about taking Rosie. We haven't had much time to get to know Rosie yet but we were told that she loves to play with other dogs (she is only used to others her size so far) and that she loved the owner's grandson. She hasn't been around cats but should be fine since most cats will be her size or bigger. Rosie is said to be a cuddler who loves to be with her person and she can become protective of her family. Rosie is a bit timid at first with new people but she warms up quickly. She just needs a day or two to acclimate to her new surroundings. She has not been nippy but she is a chihuahua so there is always the possibility she might if she gets scared. We were told that Rosie is crate trained and she is mostly housebroken. Her owner stated she would pee on her bed but only at night. She would be fine during the day. Her owner started crating her at night and that stopped the bed peeing since it only happened at night. She's still a young pup so she may just need an extra night outing before bed to prevent any further issues. Rosie is a super sweet girl who just wants a lap to cuddle up with. She will be a great companion for anyone who wants a young, small dog who enjoys being with their family.
Rosie saw the vet on 8/28/24 and was found to have no issues on her exam. She also tested negative on her heartworm test but was positive for hookworms on her fecal so we have given her a Drontal for the hookworms. She may need a follow up in 3 weeks. She has been started on Simparica Trio monthly also for flea control and heartworm prevention. Rosie weighed 6.9 pounds as of 8/28/24.
If interested in giving Rosie her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Rosie's adoption fee will be $300 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Rosie based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for her, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
