Winnie is a happy girl that wants to be your friend. She is good with people and other dogs, just the right amount of playful. She loves snuggling. She sleeps all night in her kennel and seems to be housebroken if she has access to a doggie door. She hasn't destroyed any cords, shoes, plants..... and seems to get the routine of a house. (she does have some hard chew toys that she uses). She's curious and does follow me around everywhere. She pulls on her leash but is getting better. Winnie would do well in a home with another dog or by herself if she can be your little buddy. She's smart and wants to learn. I think she's a little bit of an old soul.
Volunteer Notes - She was very waggy and friendly inside her kennel even with her 3 tiny pups! She was happy to go outside and get a break from her pups with a happy trot and wagging tail. She did great on a temp test with Cardi, I pulled her away but she didn’t make a peep nor had any hackles or growling, her response was great. She’s a cute little spotted medium mama and her pups have the same spots! She wasn’t interested in any of my treats but she did sniff them all. She posed for lots of glamour shots for me, RED is definitely her color! and she enjoyed lots of pets and gave me all the tail wags. She’s a super happy friendly mama and even gave me a couple little kisses! She’s such a good girl, what a great dog! She had no issue with me being near her pups in the kennel and intially resisted going back in like do I have to go back to being mom?! She’s so silly and her puppies look like tiny spotted dairy cows. I loved this little family!
Winnie was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas with her babies.
Winnie has tested positive for Heartworm. Thanks to our donors, treatment costs are covered through a partner veterinarian.
Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events!
We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently.
