For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Lexus is a 10 month old Great Dane puppy that came into rescue with her sister Mercedes. Lexus is the smallest Dane her foster home have ever fostered, but they say she is one of the sweetest one's ever! She loves to be petted, and will close her eyes with a huge smile on her face to let you know how much she is enjoying your effort! Due to her size, or lack thereof, we think Lexus will be a "teacup" Dane, meaning she will probably be a smaller Dane when she is finished growing.
Lexus would prefer a quiet home, as she isn't as confident about things as her sister Mercedes. She is currently living in a home with 5 other Great Danes, and gets along well with all of them. She probably would prefer to have more of her own time with her "person". She definitely prefers ladies to men, and does require a minute to meet new people due to her shyness.
Lexus might have had some type of trauma with a door in her previous living situation, as she gets very nervous about going thru them, and some doors she flat refuses to go thru. The foster home is concentrating efforts on getting her more comfortable to enter and exit thru doors with high value food items and there is improvement. Lexus can be skittish, and does require a lot of patience. She should be walked with a harness that she can't escape from if something spooks her. She will thrive with a person dedicated to her, that is quiet, patient, and reassuring.
Lexus is perfectly happy to hang out with her foster mom during the work day. She is a great "co-worker" as she's quiet as a little mouse, but thinks it's delicious when her foster mom takes a break for a belly scratch! She bonded quickly which helped give her confidence, and tries hard to do the right thing. She will make a loyal companion for a quiet home that wants a love bug! A training agreement will be part of her adoption contract. Lexus came to MAGDRL August 2024
