My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*This dog is scheduled to arrive in Grimsby, Ontario the evening of Friday, September 27*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website.

Hi there, I'm Stuart! I'm young and full of life. I love exploring and finding new things to sniff and play with. My curiosity knows no bounds! I'm also a bit of a goofball, I love to make people laugh with my silly antics. I already mastered the command 'sit' and patiently wait for my treats. I went on a little staycation in a foster home and the foster reported that I only went potty outside in the yard and I quietly slept in the crate. They also gave me a nice bath, which i looooved! I'm looking for a furever home where I can share all my love and energy. So, why not consider adopting me? I promise to be your best friend and the most loyal companion you could ever ask for! He was in a temporary foster home with his doggy friend Crunchy, and got great reviews! Regarding children, the foster said 'We have a total of 6, but they mostly were around the 13-, 16- and 17-year-olds. The pups were great and playful with all. They loved attention, but weren't needy. We would be outside watching them, and whenever they got tired of chasing each other, they would just come lay down by us.'

Ideal Home: The ideal home for Stuart would be one with either another dog or an active family such as walks, back yard time, toys in the house. Stuart is a typical puppy and just likes to be a part of the fun but is not overbearing. The continued confinement at the shelter is hard for him wanting to be so active and play all the time. He enjoys chew toys a lot. He is easily walked and handled every day and by several different people. Many dogs aren't meant for shelter life as stressful as it is so just want this to support his need for an active lifestyle and/or other dog to help him play. I don't believe he needs extra stimulation but just not intended to be a couch potato dog. He was adopted at 4 months old and was in a home for 3-4 days. The adopters reported that he was grumbly towards people at the door. Likely from knocking as the temp foster home reported that he would bark when someone knocked but didn't have any issues with them entering. Has greeted all strangers happily!

Additional adoption info

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue is looking for committed adopters, ready to bring a rescue dog into their life. In order to ensure that we find the best homes for our dogs, adoption applicants must go through an adoption approval process. We receive a number of applications for each dog and only one will be chosen as the successful candidate. Candidates are selected based on the dog's needs. Not being selected for the dog that you applied for does not disqualify you from adopting from us in the future.

Go meet their pets

We do our very best to place our dogs into adoptive homes before they arrive into Canada. This ensures that they have a safe and loving place to go after their long journey up North. All dogs adopted through R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue will receive a 15 day adoption probation period. This period starts the day the dog enters the care of the adopter. This means that the adoptive family has 15 days to determine that dog is a good fit for them. Although it may feel scary to not meet the dog before adopting, the 15 day period allows you to get to know the dog within your home. If you buy a dog off of Kijiji or at a local shelter you may be given a couple hours to meet the dog. We believe that our program's 15 day probation provides much more insight into how he or she will fit into your home, rather than. a brief meet and greet.

More about this rescue

R.E.B.E.L Dog Rescue was founded in 2020 by a small group of young women with one thing is common: a love for dogs. Since establishment, RDR has successfully found forever homed for over 700 dogs. Our mission is to rescue dogs in dire situations and give them a second chance at life through education and empowerment. All of our dogs come the streets and shelters across Texas, where they are experiencing a dog overpopulation crisis. Our team has travelled to the State to see first-hand how we can help and make a difference in the lives of animals.
R.E.B.E.L stands for: rescue, educate, believe, empower and love dogs. We live by these words every day and encourage the dog-loving community to follow suit!
