I have a medium energy level, so Im up for walks, running, and zoomies, but I also enjoy chilling out and napping after a good play session. My favorite activities include playing with toys, going on long and short walks, and running around the yard. If youve got a backyard, thats a bonusI love being outside, especially with other dogs. Ill admit, Im still learning some manners. I know how to sit and come when called, but Im working on house training. If you take me outside regularly, I do well, but sometimes I have an accident. I could also use some additional leash training, but I'm getting better every day with positive reinforcement! Im great with other dogs, but I havent met any kids or cats yet. If youre looking for a sweet, playful, and loyal companion, Im your girl! My foster guardian says: She is the sweetest little baby and loves her foster dog brothers and sister. Likes: Walks, runs, zoomies, toys My ideal home: My ideal home would have a yard for me to run around in, and Id love to have a doggy companion, but Id also be happy being the only dog. At anytime during the process you can meet our dogs at our adoption event. We do not have a facility and are 100% foster based.

A quick home visit to make sure the dog you've chosen is a good fit and answer any other questions you might have.

Approve Application
Once approved and the adoption fee is paid, you can take your new family member home!

Adoption area is Washington, D.C area, including Northern Virginia and Maryland. All adoptions require a completed adoption application. Our adoption coordinators will contact you soon after reviewing the application. Our adoption fee is $450 to help off set the costs of rescuing dogs in need. All dogs go to their new homes spayed or neutered, up to date on all shots, wormed (although a 2nd worming may be required), started on heart worm and flea and tick preventative and sometimes microchipped.
Although we try to be as accurate as possible, Rural Dog Rescue cannot guarantee the breed or full-grown adult size of any of the dogs or puppies in its care. Because many of these dogs were found as strays or are the result of irresponsible, unplanned breeding, we do not know the dog's exact background and can only list breed and size by our best educated guess. If exact breed and size are important to you, please consider adopting a dog from a specific breed rescue. We want our dogs to be adopted by people who will love and care for them forever for who they are - no matter what breed and size they turn out to be!
