My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

She is the tuxedo queen! Flora makes her tuxedo color pattern look much more elegant than any dress she could ever wear. The only thing stopping Flora from becoming the spokescat on feminine tuxedo apparel is that she's pretty shy around new people. She makes herself look very small, tries to hide, and seeks comfort sometimes from her Sister-Auntie-Cousin/Roomate, Cho. Other adult cats and dogs seem to trigger her fear response along with new people. But, that doesn't mean she can't get better.

Flora came to A.W.W. extremely shy and didn't seem to enjoy any kind of attention. However, her foster home while she was pregnant and had her babies seemed to help her realize she could date to be a little more outgoing. Now she's back at our HQ with foster and founder, Shelli (weaning is much easier when they're completely separated). She was an excellent mother to her kittens. They were named after plants to fit the theme.

Whenever there are kittens romping around, you can usually find Flora romping along with them. She's incredibly gentle with the little ones, and she sniffs them quite a bit, sometimes she even does a brief couple of licks to their fur. Other cats showing their confidence seem to encourage Flora to come out of her shell. Cho is a persistent Velcro Cat, and Flora is right behind her most times now. She loves her butt scratched and will flip on her back more often than not to receive tummy rubs (and no, it's not a trick! Real tummy rubs!). She's starting to show what a goober she is for attention. It's incredible to watch and be a part of her self-confidence journey.

Go meet their pets

Once your application has been approved, we will disclose the private address of the Foster who has the animal you're interested in. Our hours are based on our founder's availability, but it truly depends on the foster's schedule. Our fosters are all located in northwestern Wisconsin, and Shelli can be present if requested or she is available if the foster isn't herself.
