My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tux is not being adopted through Spotty Dog Rescue.  We are posting as a courtesy to try and find him the best home.  Please contact Kristen directly if you are interested in adopting him.  203 561-7343 or k.mcmanus@live.com

Tux is a handsome 10 year old mixed breed that needs to be re-homed because he is not getting along with the other dog in the home.  The owners are heartbroken that it has come to this but feels that in a new home, Tux will have a fresh start and a much happier life.  If you're looking for a low energy pup that is housebroken and crate trained, please consider this sweet boy.

He loves a long naps, loves napping in the sun until he overheats because he has a black coat, loves to carry his toys in his mouth to greet everyone, and he no longer enjoys ripping them up and he loves a bone he can chew on once and a while. Loves treats, very food motivated and he LOVES people the most, he likes to be part of the action and loves a good belly rub!

More about this rescue

FOSTER-BASED

All of our dogs are housed in loving foster homes until their forever family finds them.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

To provide safe harbor, medical care and love for adoptable dogs that have been abused, abandoned and neglected until they are placed into loving, responsible permanent homes; to decrease the need for senseless destroying of dogs by educating the public about the benefits of spaying & neutering; to build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness; to promote respect for life, responsible pet ownership and to encourage the higher ideals of compassion towards animals and people through education and example.

OUR COMMITMENT

Prior to adoption, each dog is spayed or neutered, receives a comprehensive veterinary examination and appropriate tests and inoculations. We conduct a thorough screening of all potential adopters to ensure the best possible match between healthy dogs and adoptive homes. We make a lifetime commitment to all of our rescued dogs. Our mission does not end with adoption. We follow up with advice, support and appropriate resources to assure a successful integration of each dog into his or her new home.
