Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sissy is a 2-year-old friendly and loving cat looking for her forever home!
Sissy is the type of cat that wants to fit in your pocket! She loves booty scratches, but head pats are a close second. She is learning to be a lap cat but loves to lay next to her human and squish her soft head against their legs.
Sissy makes soft biscuits next to her human and gets so excited she uses her back feet to spin on the floor next to her human. This sweet girl tolerates being held but prefers to have all four feet on the ground.
This fancy tuxedo gal’s favorite spot is wherever a soft blanket is. As she gets used to a new space, she likes to hide under her blankies but will come out for scritches. Her second favorite spot is where her human is—either lounging next to or on top of her person, Sissy is not picky as long as she can purr and make biscuits to show her love.
This pretty girl enjoys playing with wand toys for short bursts but prefers to snuggle instead. Sissy does need to lose some weight, so her adopter will need to find the toy that will pique her interest the best. In Sissy's foster home, they have better luck having Sissy follow them to different spots to snuggle to keep active rather than playing.
She lives with one adult human and an adult cat in a townhome. Because of her size, Sissy would do well with a larger litterbox, and a person who doesn’t mind sweeping up a little bit of litter after scooping.
Sissy gets a little overwhelmed in new environments, so would prefer a quiet home. However, she is mellow and adaptable. If her adopter were willing to give her the right decompression space, she could adjust to a bigger space.
The shelter reported she was calm around other cats. Her kid and dog status is unknown; however, she would likely be calm around them too with proper slow intros. Her adopter would have to monitor her comfort since she hides when uncertain.
Sissy is so eager to make you biscuits, sit by your side, and receive the affection she has been seeking. If you are ready to let her feel comfortable in a calm, gentle environment, along with helping her stay fit and trim to live her best life, Sissy is so ready to meet you! Please consider adding this lovely lady to your home and your heart. ----- There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate.
Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
