My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! I’m Basil, a sweet brown tabby girl on the lookout for my forever home. I came from a busy household with way too many cats, and while I loved my furry friends there, I’m ready for a place where I can truly shine. I’m friendly and social, always eager to make new friends—both human and animal. I have a playful spirit and a curious nature; whether I’m exploring new nooks in my environment or playing with my favorite toys, I’m always up for an adventure. My ideal home would be one where I can receive plenty of love and attention, though I wouldn’t mind sharing my space with a few furry friends who enjoy a bit of fun as well.  If you’re looking for a delightful companion to share your life with, I would love to meet you and see if we’re the perfect match! More about this rescue

Friends of Rescue Animals (FRAs) is a 501(c)(3) all volunteer non-profit organization.  FRAs was founded in 2004 and started off with 4 volunteers that wanted to support the Rowlett Animal Shelter.

Our organization has grown to 400 volunteers supporting both the Rowlett Animal Shelter and the Garland Animal Shelter. With this growth now we are able to host multiple off-site adoption events, sponsor heartworm treatments program, operate our own cat rescue program, and so much more!
