**Needs either another dog in the home or someone who works from home or is not gone often if you do not have other pets.**
Baxter is an absolutely gorgeous 3 year old Malamute/Siberian Husky mix. He is always smiling and loves being around or a part of whatever you are doing. Walks are a big treat for him; he gets really excited after you put his harness on and runs to sit by the front door, ready to go. Baxter was a big hit at doggy daycare and fast to make new friends! He does great on leash and is responsive to a "leave it" or "no" command when he sees a bunny or other critter he wants to say hi to. He has been most recently been homed with 2 cats and after a few curious encounters, everyone got along great with no issues. He is house trained/potty trained and knows basic commands, and has the most gentle bite when taking treats. He does love a good sock or two, so having some stuffies and chew toys for him to play with helps!
He is not your average husky mix, he is very relaxed and not chatty at all. He has more of a Malamute temperament whih makes him a rare husky find! He is gentle, submissive, and just wants to be included. He gets the occasional zoomies and bursts of energy, and he loves to get his wiggles out with playing tug in the yard or daily walks in the neighborhood and park. He is healthy and up-to-date on all vaccinations, and he would be a wonderful adventure buddy for hikes, runs, and patio hangs! He loves to cuddle, share the couch for tv time, and be loved on. He's great with grooming and getting bathed. He LOVES the water hose, which is a good way to create exercise and get a good laugh yourself. (think pogo stick jumping to grab water spraying)
Baxter is a friendly and outgoing dog with lots of playful energy. He would benefit from a family that can continue working on basic obedience and recall training. Baxter thrives with an active/outdoorsy lifestyle that also offers a calm home environment where he can spend lots of time with his humans and feel relaxed. He is best suited for a child-free home or one without small children, preferably with another dog to help continue showing him the ropes.
We got Baxter's DNA test and he is: 56% Siberian Husky, 18% Alaskan Malamute, 12% American Staffordshire terrier, 7% Argentine Pila, 7% Shiloh Shepherd
