Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poor Benny is a 10 month old puppy who was abandoned and left to starve. That is how he came into the shelter. He is in foster now and doing great. He is living with two senior dogs who tolerate his puppiness but also look after him. He is crate trained, almost fully house trained, knows sit and is low to medium energy. He is learning about toys and all the good fun things in life. He is easy to walk and everything is new to him. He can be a bit shy/scared at first but once he knows it's okay, it's back to happy time. He does like to be with his family (likely from being left). He is going to be a great family dog.

We have many wonderful pets waiting to be adopted! Adoption fees are $85 for dogs and $65 for cats (Dogs over 5 years old, $40). The adoption fee to persons over 55 years old is $40. Adoptions includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, heartworm test, fecal test, and Feline Leukemia/FIV test for cats.

Managed by LifeLine Animal Project, DeKalb County Animal Services provides a humane environment for DeKalb County’s homeless pets. We also provide other services such as veterinary care for our animals including spay/neuter surgeries, pet adoptions, pet reclaims, volunteer programs, foster home programs, rescue group coordination, and other lifesaving programs.
