Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rory lives up to his name, which means "red king." His gorgeous red coat matches his proud, high-stepping gait. Rory is friendly, happy, and eager to go, go, go! He has a perfect mixture of teenaged energy and solid sleeping skills! A smart pup, he is eager to learn commands and comes when he is called. He walks well on a leash and is very interested in making friends with everyone he encounters on walks. Rory is getting accustomed to crate training and is pretty quiet most all of the time (Having his shank bone certainly helps!). Rory is a cute snack size and seems as though he will be a smaller/medium sized dog--so whether you have a ranch or an apartment, Rory should fit right in! He rides well in the car (as long as you can collect his drool) and cuddles in your lap like a true champ. Rory would love to be a part of your loving home!

Submit Application

If you see an animal you would like to meet, complete our online application. You will receive an email with the next steps.

2.
Meet the Pet

Visit the facility where the animal is located. If in foster care, the foster will set up a time to meet with you.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

One of our adoption counselors will review the animal's medical history and walk you through the paperwork.

4.
Pay Fee

Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchip.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Once the adoption process is complete, you can bring your furry friend home!

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.

San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.

Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.
