Ball boy McAvoy! He’s a 3 year old Border collie (or maybe McNab) mix with not only ball drive but the best fetch manners. He brings the ball right back and will nudge it so it’s easier for you to reach??. Then he will rest right beside you, ball at the ready, enjoying a little cuddle time.
With most of the dogs at the shelter, we don’t know much about them. This boy, however, was seen for many weeks roaming alone in and around fields. He was skittish and lots of animal lovers were concerned; they would leave him food and water. Finally one extra-patient and compassionate person was able to befriend him, leash him and bring him to the shelter. She quickly discovered that not only is he very sweet and gentle, he has had some training. McAvoy has done very well in the shelter; it almost seems as if the inherent stress of shelter life pales in comparison to the loneliness and uncertainty he had before.
This is one special dog. Intelligent, kind, easy to handle, handsome. How did he wind up alone? He really deserves a wonderful, loving home with people who will spend time with him and indulge him, with treats, walks, and endless balls too!
