My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Koa, a joyful, playful, and affectionate medium-sized pit bull mix who's ready to bring warmth and laughter into his forever home. Koa's favorite pastimes include snuggling on the couch, playing fetch, and showing off his tricks for treats. He thrives on routine and loves his daily morning walks, followed by cuddle time throughout the day. Koa's heart is as big as his smile, and he's generous with kisses, sharing his love with everyone he meets, whether humans or fellow dogs.

Koa is a wonderful companion who's mindful of his surroundings; he'll give a quick bark to alert you if someone's nearby but settles down as soon as he knows it's safe. He's been a true gentleman, showing no aggressive behaviors or resource guarding. Koa is easygoing and respectful, never chewing on your belongings, and he's happiest when he has plenty of toys and balls to keep him entertained.

If you're looking for a sweet, gentle pup who's great with other dogs, adores people, and brings pure joy into every day, Koa might just be the perfect addition to your family. He's ready to fill your life with love, loyalty, and plenty of cuddles.

Things to consider: needs a couple of weeks to adapt to his new space. He will kennel throughout the day but cries for about 10 minutes. He has some anxiety and expresses it through jumping. When you arrive home, ask him to sit and reward him with a treat.

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

Go meet their pets

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
