My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet a unique family! Mama Cricket, and her three babies have Radial Hypoplasia (RH) - underdeveloped radius (one of the two forearm bones). This mutation makes their front legs shorter, and most RH cats adapt by learning to hop on their hind legs - that's where their nicknames, like "squittens and "cabbits, come from! Mama Cricket's squittens have all found homes, but Cricket is still looking for her special forever.

Mama Cricket has very mild RH and walks normally! Her front leg is slighly bent and buckles under as she walks, but otherwise she's like any other cat. She is a sweet girl who is eagerly asking her foster mom for pets; however she is not fond of other cats (dogs are unknown), and can be a little too feisty for the little ones. We are looking for a special adopter for her -- cat-savvy, and ready to commit!

If you ever considered adopting a special needs cat but were worried about them requiring too much care, check out Cricket! She is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and negative for FIV and FelV. Apply to adopt Cricket here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/RARI/Cat

More about this rescue

Our mission is to focus on the welfare of the most vulnerable abandoned animals – newborn kittens, special needs animals, and medically urgent cases. By providing a nurturing foster home environment and comprehensive veterinary care prior to adoption, we ensure their ability to rise above their past challenges and forge a resilient and trusting relationship with their new families. We will also offer post-adoption support, educational resources, and collaborative opportunities to local municipal shelters, TNVR groups, and other nonprofit organizations which fall under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and are operated for charitable purposes.
