My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Snoopy arrived at the shelter just a couple of weeks ago on 8-22-2024 because his person was moving and couldn't take him with her. This six-year-old bundle of fur was confused by being separated from everything and everybody he's known.

Currently, one of our wonderful volunteers is fostering Snoopy. He's adjusting well and enjoys sitting in warm lap. Snoopy also appreciates a gentle approach. He gets upset if anyone speaks harshly to him.

He's good with other dogs and would be happy to have a canine friend. A quiet, less active home will be best.

Snoopy needs an experienced adopter who understands how to work with his quirks—someone who has the time and patience to bring out his full potential as a wonderful canine companion.

All potential adopters are required to fill out an adoption application. Upon approval, you will be able to schedule an appointment to meet the animal in which you are interested in adopting. Adoption forms can be downloaded off of our website or filled out in person at an adoption center.

Dogs - $550

Adoption fee includes vaccinations, testing for FIV and Feline Leukemia (cats) or heart worm (dogs), spaying/neutering, and age appropriate veterinary care.

More about this rescue

Save The Animals Rescue Team II (S.T.A.R.T. II), started in 1989, is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 status organization dedicated to alleviating the plight of homeless and abandoned companion animals. Twice a week we visit a local pound and take as many adoptable animals as we can. These animals are provided veterinary care, clean living conditions, exercise and socialization.

We work with potential adopters to find that perfect match…..giving them a "fur"- ever home for life. In addition, we educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering as well as offering low cost options, vaccinations, preventive medications, and proper living conditions for their new and existing pets.

This lifesaving work is critical for many of these unfortunate animals, since their only crime was to be born unwanted. Since our inception, we have rescued and placed over 7,000 dogs and cats.
