Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOR ADOPTION: PUSS is a sweet 11 month old female that is looking for a stable and loving forever family. This little lady has faced a lot of trauma in her short life and is so deserving of a happily ever after story. Puss was born to a feral momma on a rural property that is only inhabited by people part time. The kind people did notice this feral momma and provided her and her brood with food and warm places to hide. One day when the couple returned home they found that the feral cats were gone. They checked their trail cams and realized the horrific had happened, a lone coyote that has been hanging around took out what appeared to be the entire family. The next day they heard tiny mews coming from under their deck and found Puss, the lone survivor of the coyote massacre. Puss tamed up quickly as her only company were these kind people and they provided her with delicious meals. Unfortunately the couple could not bring her back and fourth between their two residences so Puss spent half her time alone on the property with lots of food left for her. Puss came into heat far earlier than the people expected (approximately 5 months old, which unfortunately is not uncommon) and ended up pregnant on that heat cycle. She gave birth to her own litter of four beautiful kittens and managed to keep them safe and healthy with the help of the kind couple. As much as they cared for the little cat family the couple realized they could not properly look after them as they are regularly away for long stretches so they contacted us and we were able to take them all in. Puss finished raising her babies in a kind and loving foster home where they all learned about the comforts of the indoors. Puss’s babies have all now been weaned and adopted, Puss is spayed and so ready to find that happily ever after. Puss is an affectionate, cuddly young care that is truly grateful to finally be safe and secure in her environment. She loves head rubs, back rubs and giving little kisses. She finds loud young children slightly overwhelming but will warm up to anyone that is able to be calm and gentle while she first gets to know you. Puss is still a fun, young cat with a vibrant playful side. She enjoys toy mice and bell balls to bat around her kennel and would love to play with her kitten neighbours. Puss has been very good with all the other cats she’s met at the shelter so far including another young mother and her kittens. She has had very limited interactions with dogs but is open to the idea of them if they are calm and respectful of her space. Puss is very happy indoors and away from the need to protect herself from danger. She could enjoy a safe catio or supervised time in a very secure yard. Puss is spayed, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control. If you’ve been looking for a resilient young cat, apply today at www.NWAS.ca for a chance to meet PUSS #NWASPuss
