Sundae Sprinkles is one of those cats that Purr Partners just can’t turn down. We were contacted by a small rural county who had just had a kitten surrendered with a broken leg and an open wound. We took her right to one of our vets who amputated her leg the next day. Unfortunately she began to show signs of other injuries and the very next day after her amputation she had surgery again to fix a diaphragmatic hernia and an injuredt spleen. It was decided that she must have been hit by a car.
Sundae was a real trooper, and now after having time to heal, she is ready for her forever home. She’s a very sweet, loving kitten, who likes to cuddle on your lap. Sundae lives with many other cats and two gentle dogs and gets along with them all. She can get around just fine on her three legs and even runs up and down stairs with ease. If she’s given a ball she loves to bat it around and chase after it. Sundae has no lingering problems after her ordeal, and would more than likely love to have another kitten or young cat to play and cuddle with. Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, foster-based, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in Central North Carolina — incorporated in 2009 by two friends, four cats, and no budget. These two women realized the need for a "cat only" rescue that worked with rural shelters — where cats routinely lose their lives. Purr Partners was founded to save the lives of those most in jeopardy with little hope of survival. High-kill rural shelters became the focus for Purr Partners, and that is still true today. From those humble beginnings, the rescue has grown to over a hundred active volunteers and a budget of approximately $175,000. At any given time there are between 100 and 150 cats and kittens in foster care. We have saved the lives of over 3500 cats and are still growing!
