For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Lola, L-O-L-A LOLA! just like the song goes, she's very special! Here is a sweet affectionate adult girl that is ready for a loving home. She's a Pomeranian for sure, so grooming will be a part of her care routine. She has a "pom" bark, so shared walls are most likely not the best idea for her new home. Lola is adventurous and has been known to both dart out a door and sneak out a door, so care must be taken to keep her safe. Small kids might accidently leave a door or a gate ajar, so that must be taken into account in her new home. Lola loves to be outside; a secure fenced yard is a plus for her.
Lola is a small girl and quite portable at under 10#, she's able to get on and off of surfaces easily, but at her small size care should be taken to keep her from leaping off of high levels.
Lola is about 6 years old. She had a spay and a dental and all her vaccines updated. She had a negative heartworm test and has been started on heartworm and flea prevention. She weighed 8.8 pounds at her appointment, her adoption fee is $450.

Additional adoption info
**If you are unable to pay the adoption fee ($250 and up), we are unable to place a dog in your care. Being unable to meet the financial obligations of pet care (recurrent or emergent) is one of many reasons why so many of these pets end up in rescue. It's not lack of love.**
We require an adoption application, and then we will check references. We also check with vets. If the person is not LOCAL then we will partner with a local animal control to complete a home visit.
There are adoption fees associated with the costs of veterinary care of the pet. We require an adoption contract to be signed to finalize the adoption process and we have an agreement that all our pets are to be Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. pets for LIFE. In other words, in the event that they can not stay in their adoptive home, they are not to be surrendered to another individual or rescue.

More about this rescue
Chihuahua Rescue Indiana Inc. is a non profit, all volunteer rescue working with Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. The pets are housed in individual volunteer foster homes, not kennels or shelters until they are adopted permanently. We get to know our animals and therefore can tell the potential adopter what the traits of the animal are and what home would be the best for the pet. We are dedicated to the adoption, education, rescue and transportation of the Chihuahua breed. We believe that every Chihuahua deserves a loving home.
