My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Joey and Baby Dakota!

Joey was rescued in January 2023 from a local shelter with a large group of male guinea pigs. They were neglected and underweight so we were very happy to be able to help get all 13 of them out of the shelter and safe with our incredible foster volunteers. Joey is about two years old (as of August 2024)

Joey is friendly, loves his treats and is great during lap time. He's very handsome and just a great piggy all around! He has such an outgoing personality that we just knew he would thrive with a piggy friend! That friend arrived in July of 2024 - Two month old Dakota! Dakota was rescued, along with 40 other guinea pigs, from a park where he and his family were living in the bushes. We are very happy that Dakota is so healthy despite living outside in the summer heat.

Now that they have each other Joey and Dakota need a loving home of their own! If you are ready to offer these boys a permanent home, please submit an adoption application.

We require a 4x2 C&C cage or a double midwest cage setup. The 4x2 C&C cage measures 56" x 27". Please see our Supply list for links to approved habitats: https://www.socalguineapigrescue.org/supplies-list

All of our piggies are fostered in LA, OC and Ventura Counties so please message us if you would like to meet any of them.
