My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Ozzy was brought in by his previous owner on April 30, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Ozzy, the cutest little companion you could ever hope for! This adorable pup would love to find an adult-only home where he is able to spend the majority of his time with his family. If you're a real homebody looking for an affectionate pet to keep you company, Ozzy could be the one for you! While Ozzy can be a bit fearful of new faces and places, he warms up over time and enjoys spending quality time with his favorite humans. He loves to play and go on walks in low-traffic areas. Ozzy isn't a fan of other dogs, so he is looking to be your one and only pet. Meet this loveable boy today and discover the joy of having him as part of your family! Don't forget to bring a leash and a collar!

Shy/Fearful Dog: Ozzy requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him. Additionally, our Behavior & Training team will provide a post-adopt consultation over the phone!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
