My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet August, a charming cat with a heart full of love! August was found outside and brought to SAVE through animal control, but he's ready to leave his past behind and find a loving forever home. August is a sweet, friendly, and affectionate cat who adores cuddles and loves to be petted. He is always eager to share his affection and would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a gentle and loving feline friend. If you're ready to welcome a sweet and cuddly cat into your home, August is the perfect match for you!

August is FIV positive, but this should not deter you from considering him as your new family member. Many FIV-positive cats lead healthy and fulfilling lives with proper care. It's essential to provide August with regular veterinary check-ups, a balanced diet, and an indoor environment to ensure his well-being.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
