My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pooh Bear, the gentle giant with a heart as big as his playful paws! This sweet boy I s a bundle of joy who loves nothing more than running around and having fun. Pooh Bear's favorite pastime? Bounding around with boundless energy and a big, goofy grin on his face.

Though Pooh Bear might be a bit hard of hearing, it doesn't slow him down one bit. He's always ready to play and will shower you with affection, proving that you don't need perfect hearing to be the best companion. His loving nature and teddy bear charm make him the ultimate snuggle buddy after a day of fun.

If you're looking for a large, lovable friend who's always up for a game and full of sweet cuddles, Pooh Bear is your guy! Ready to bring this adorable teddy bear into your life? Fill out an application on our website or stop by the shelter to meet Pooh Bear in person. He's excited to find his forever home where he can share his endless love and playful spirit!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
