MEET CHLOE!

Chloe was transferred to us from another local rescue so we can help her find the perfect home. She is somewhere around 8-10 and was surrendered to ACCT Philly in June after her owners brought her to a low cost clinic for care who diagnosed her with a life threatening uterine infection called pyometra. Not being able to afford the surgery, she was surrendered to ACCT who was able to do emergency spay surgery where they found that her uterus had already ruptured and she was incredibly lucky to come in when she did. Unfortunately, it was not in her best interest to return home seeing as though she was in poor physical shape including being covered in flea dirt and fly eggs. It’s guessed that Chloe lived outdoors most, if not all of the time.

Sad story aside, Chloe is a little pocket of joy who is built all wrong! She weighs around 35 lbs. and has such a ridiculously large overbite that it takes several attempts to pick up kibble and grab treats. Now that she’s feeling better than she likely has in years, we’re getting to see her spunky yet laidback personality! Chloe is a quick learner and is very food motivated so training her has been a breeze. She's learning to walk well on a leash and already has the basics down. Chloe did well in her dog meets at the shelter when she wasn't feeling so well and lived with them in her original foster home but we think she'd be happiest in a home without other pets. She may be able to live with other large dogs but should not live with small dogs or cats.
