My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Benjamin, or "Tucker" as he prefers to be called, is a delightfully sweet and endearing young pup. Despite his initial shyness, this charming canine has an innate tendency to form strong bonds with the humans in his life, warming up to new people with an eagerness that is simply irresistible. His gentle, affectionate nature shines through and is a HUGE cuddle bug!

Equally enamored with his canine companions, Tucker is a social butterfly who revels in the opportunity to play and explore alongside other dogs.

His caretakers are currently working diligently on instilling proper house training and basic obedience, guiding this eager-to-please pup as he learns to navigate the ins and outs of domestic life. Yet, even as he diligently applies himself to these training sessions, Tucker's true passion remains cuddling up close to his beloved humans.

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
