Sarge is a 9 years young munchkin looking for a forever family. His owner passed away and there was nobody to take care of him, so Sarge ended up in a crowded shelter. It was no place for a little guy who’d just lost the only family he’d ever known, and fortunately one of our terrific foster families was able to spring Sarge from the shelter quickly. We don’t think Sarge got much exercise in his previous home because his hind legs are weak, but with a steady routine he’s been improving. Sarge is loving being spoiled by his foster family, but he’s now ready to move on to a forever home where he can combine his excellent skills as a lap dog with going on walks, car rides, and other family activities.
His foster mom says “He loves kids but if they get rowdy he gets upset so I think he’d do best in a home without kids. He gets along with my dogs and has done well meeting other dogs on walks and at the vet, and when he met the shelter cat he didn’t have any reaction. He does best with other small dogs, and he would also really enjoy being an only dog, soaking up all the attention, doing lots of lap time, and going for walks. His back legs are getting stronger and he actually jumped up on the couch the other day!”
