Rigo is a 4 year old, 37 lb male Shepherd mix, a true rescue story as he was saved from living on the streets with a homeless man. When he came into our home he was scared to be touched and get close to any humans. After a very short time, days, he warmed up to not only our family but to all humans. He joins us at school pickup and drop off everyday and loves to go on long walks and runs. Rigo is also a great guard dog as he alerts us when people come into our yard or approach the door with a few barks. Rigo will cuddle with you for as long as you will allow it as he loves to be pet and cuddle up. Our family unfortunately travels for work far too much and are not able to provide him with the attention he deserves as he has high energy and loves to go on walks. His adoption fee is $50. SPOT adopts puppies less than 1 year- $450, dogs 1-8 yr- $300, 9 yr- $200.
We ask you to complete an adoption application. A home check will be scheduled to be sure there are no inadvertent dangers in your home or yard. A meet and greet will be arranged so that your whole family can meet your new pet before adopting him/her. We want to make sure it is a good fit since it is a commitment for the animal’s lifetime.

Someone will get in touch with you as soon as possible. We can also tell you when the next adoption event at a local pet store will be held, or we can set up a time to meet with you.

More about this rescue

SPOT was created to fill the need to save animals who “fall through the cracks” in our sheltering system. Local shelters are overwhelmed—they receive so many strays and owner turn-ins that they run out of space and have to kill thousands of animals each year. The majority of these animals are healthy and simply need to be placed into a home. Others are medical cases which require some work, but do not have life-threatening diseases or injuries. And a few have some moderate behavior issues; we work with specialists to correct these behaviors before finding them their forever home. The bottom line is SPOT can save these lives.
