My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please go to our website at www.milehighlabmission.com to find out more about this pet and to submit an adoption application.

Please DO NOT call or email us; all information about current dogs available, adoption donations, vetting, and this specific dog are on our website.

We are a non-profit organization and we are completely 100% volunteer run.

We DO NOT have a shelter and only approved applicants can make appointments with our foster homes to meet the dogs we have.

Our volunteers will not discuss dogs we have available for adoption UNTIL you have an application on file and are approved to adopt.

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.

Personality | Tilly is super sweet and loving! She loves laying on your lap, giving you kisses, and getting belly rubs! She is already pretty well behaved and will make a wonderful addition to any family. :) She is super cuddly and her preferred napping location is right next to you with her head across your lap.

Story | MHLM pulled her from a Houston shelter when she terribly close to being EUd due to possibly having been hit by a car. She may have had a loving family at one point since she is well-behaved, crate trained, and potty trained.

Other Dogs | Tilly is good with other dogs!

Cats | Good with cats. She mostly ignores her kitty foster brother.

Children | She likely would be great with kids, but isn't being fostered with any. She loves every person she meets right away! She would probably love if some kids gave her some belly rubs. :)

Training | Tilly is very well behaved for her age! She's great in the crate and will go in there for naps with the door open. She also sleeps in the crate at night without a peep and is fine crated alone while you leave the house. She's been left crated during the work day and did great. She's house trained and will wait by the door patiently when she has to go out. She knows to ring the bells on the door handle when she has to go out. She's extremely treat motivated and eager to please so she will likely be easy to continue training. She's learned "sit" and "look" while on walks in her new foster home and is continuing to learn new tricks. She hasn't been destructive and prefers chewing on a dog bone. When you're sitting on the couch, she loves you so much that she might jump on your lap and attack your face with kisses!! She does great on car rides as well. Tilly loves the water, especially if there's a ball to retrieve! She's not the best at bringing it back yet though!

Leash | She's decent on a leash when wearing a front latch harness and she came to Colorado with a harness that her future adopters can take home with her. She pulls a bit, but mostly wants to stay by your side. She is getting lots of leash training and improving every day! She is learning to focus on her walker with the "look" command. She's also learned to "sit" to get her leash put on and off. She is a smart girl who is learning lots of new things in her new foster home!

Activity Level | Medium energy. Her injury doesn't seem to slow her down and she would be more than happy to join her family on hikes! She's being fostered in an apartment and doesn't seem to mind! She's been happy with long walks and visits to the apartment dog park to release her energy. She loves to chase balls and toys that you throw and is learning how to bring it back! She isn't destructive and will occupy herself with dog nylabones. She likes to chase balls and toys and is getting better at actually return the ball for you to throw again!

Health Notes | She has old fractures from possibly being hit by a car. She doesn't let that slow her down and you probably wouldn't even notice the injury if you weren't looking for it! She's up to date on vaccines and is heartworm NEGATIVE! She was spayed on 9/5 and is now ready for all the Colorado adventures!

Thank you!

Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).

Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process.

Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption.

We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!

We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
