My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Waldo is fostered in Waterford, MI.

Waldo, who is affectionally called Wally, came to rescue from an Amish farm. He is a goofy and energetic 1 year old male Australian Shepherd who is ready to find his forever home.  Waldo is a blue merle weighing about 45 lbs.

With his boundless enthusiasm and silly nature, Wally is always up for a new adventure and would thrive in a household with another playful dog. Wally is a VERY active dog who thrives on physical exercise and mental stimulation. He loves to run, play, and engage in various activities that challenge his agile mind and body.

Because of his size and energy levels, Wally will require a home with children over 10 years old and someone who is able to provide 1 - 2 hours (minimum) of daily exercise. He is an active, young, playful aussie.  While Wally’s energy is one of his most charming qualities, he is also working on some important skills. He is learning to manage his tendency to jump and is improving his understanding of boundaries.

One thing Wally has mastered is potty training! He is also very good about being in his crate at night and while his foster family is out of the home. Wally is learning a great deal:  new people, situations, and new environments so he may be a bit nervous at first, but once he knows you, he'll be your best buddy.  Wally needs an adopter that is willing to continue his proper socialization to new things through positive experiences.  If you’re looking for a loyal and lively companion who will bring joy and excitement to your life, Wally might be the perfect match for you.

Wally is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm preventatives for all past and current pets is required to be adopted from us. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, see our adoption fees, and find a link to our adoption application.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
