My name is Xander!

Greetings from our big boy in residence, Xander. Xander is a male 2 year old Akita. Xander weighs 80 pounds. Xander was found as a stray and no one claimed this majestic dog. The Akita is a dog breed that comes from ancient Japanese lines famous for its loyalty and courage. The Akita is a dog breed known for its protective qualities. He is not for first time dog owners. Xander is huge and will require a strong handler both in spirit and in person. He heeds his handler and walks well on leash. The Akita breed can seem aloof but bonds strongly with his family. Experience with the Akita breed is required. A fenced in yard is also required. Xander is happy with a stroll in the park or a game of catch. We are not saying that he will catch the ball every time but he will definitely try his best to find the ball. Because he is a stray, we don’t know if Xander is compatible with other dogs or cats. Older children are best based on Xander's giant size. Xander is a goofy and happy fellow. He is just waiting for a home. Xander is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster him in your home until he finishes his vetting which includes neuter, vaccines, heartworm testing and microchip.
