My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Winona!

**I need to be spayed before I can go home**

I'm a new arrival at the shelter but so far I have shown that I am sweet yet brave and confident. I am still getting to know the staff and volunteers but I'm already making quick friends. As we all learn more about each other look out for updates on my likes and dislikes. If you want a chance to meet me, come on down and just ask!

** I'm a volunteer favorite and here's why:
"Winona is such a cutie! While we had her out, we got lots of nudges, head binkies, and pets in. She even climbed up on our laps for treats!"
"She is just the best. She's very curious and comes right up to the front of her cage to check me out and say hello. She loves blackberry leaves, and her cage is situated right next to the drawer they are in, so it can be very difficult to resist her hopeful curiosity! She has very soft ears and her forehead is quite smoochable. She's very good at rearranging her cage, so giving her room to make design choices would be beneficial." **

My adoption fee includes a certificate for a free vet exam.

I came into the shelter as a surrender and the above information is based on my previous history and my behavior seen while in the shelters care. Expect to learn more about me after adoption.

Thank you for taking time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match, call (541) 689-1503 x117 and ask to meet me! I'm looking for my forever home and it could be with you!

More about this shelter

Greenhill Humane Society has been caring for animals in Lane County since 1944. We operate the only animal shelter within the Eugene/Springfield area. Our programs include animal adoptions; reuniting lost animals with their families; disaster response; crisis care boarding in situations of domestic violence, medical emergencies, and other crisis situations; spay/neuter for free roaming, un-owned community cats; a pet pantry; on-site volunteer opportunities; foster care and humane education.

Last year, we helped reunite or find new loving homes for 2,826 animals. In addition, we provided 469 cat spay/neuter surgeries to assist cat caregivers in reducing feral cat over-population.

Greenhill is a private non-profit and relies on donations for a majority of its budget. The generosity of our local community enables us to provide a high level of care to lost, abandoned, and neglected animals while at the same time helping pet owners in need.
