Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mantis is a 2-year-old male who was found as a stray. He's a sweet cat who loves three things in life: food, humans, and his tunnel. Mantis is young, playful, and enjoys running in and out of his tunnel. He also loves chasing wand toys or toy mice during playtime. When he's not playing, Mantis likes to relax and sleep in very comfortable positions.
Mantis has tested positive for FIV, but FIV-positive cats can live long and healthy lives without needing medication. Our adoption counselors have plenty of information on FIV and can assure you that Mantis has many good years ahead of him.
Mantis also has a heart condition, though it currently doesn't require any medication. However, he will need regular vet check-ups to monitor any changes. Our adoption counselors can provide more details about the care he may need.
Because of his health, Mantis needs a quiet environment where he can avoid stress. Calm, older children should be a good match for him. He seems to be okay with other cats but isn't actively seeking a buddy. He could thrive in a home with another calm FIV-positive cat or be perfectly happy as the center of attention on his own. Mantis is a very friendly cat who will return your love if you can give him the care he deserves. Meeting him is sure to charm you.
As we are closed to the public, adoptions are by appointment only. If you have an interest in meeting Mantis, please fill out our online adoption application (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MWHS/Cat. We will review all applications and make appointments for those applicants we feel would provide a good and loving home for Mantis.
