Meet Melia! Melia is about 4.5 months old, currently 25 lbs, and she may have some Lab in her mix! She was found as a stray in Bankhead National Forest. In her foster home, she is working hard on her house-training, crate-training and leash-walking. She could live with other playful dogs, cats, and/or kids.
Melia will need to be spayed at one of our veterinary partners which we will arrange and pay for no later than 6 months of age.
Her foster says, "Melia is that baby that is looking for a home with kids of any size that love to play and run. She is fantastic with the other dogs of ALL sizes and has a hard time understanding why the Seniors just don't wanna romp! She loves to be able to run and play with the other dogs through the back yard. She would do just fine with cats, she does not really show interest in mine at all. She is learning sit and lay down and doing real good with them, She learns real fast! She loves to be loved, hugs and kisses. She does not try jumping into your lap. She is still learning all the puppy cans and not suppose to do things in life. She is doing GREAT with crate training. She will crate sometimes during the day when I need the dogs to settle down. She will also crate when I leave the house. She is going in with a verbal cue and a treat. She doesn't destroy bedding/blankets at all!."
She is available for adoption in Hopkinton or Foxboro by appointment with an approved adopter. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.
-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises. -Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt. - More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com
