My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sammy!

Sammy may be the tiniest Golden Retriever we've ever seen. However, don't let his size fool you, this tiny boy has springs in his legs and his highest recorded jump was 6ft! He's super athletic, fun and a nearly perfect boy.

He is high energy and a rough player with other dogs. He needs a dog that can match his play style and is up for a good backyard wrestling match or a game of fetch. He loves sitting in your lap and watching TV, he carries blankets and socks around the house and loves toys. He's both housetrained and crate trained and is very polite with food and treats. He's such a good boy.

Sammy can be shy with strangers at first, but he is a typical golden within a few minutes. He is fine with kids, but older kids would be preferred due to his energy level. He is a great work from home partner, but is also fine being left for 8 hours if you need to go to the office.

Sammy needs another playful dog and a 6ft fence (or taller) in his forever home. Shorter fences will not be considered. One of his favorite tricks is to hurdle over the sofa, so we would likely do the same with a short fence :) Can someone take this boy to agility training?

Sammy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. He is in Davenport (lakeland area) and his adoption fee is $500.

More about this rescue

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.

Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
