My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nessie is an adorable Bernadoodle, born 12/1/21, looking for her forever home. She loves kids, is good with big dogs and small dogs, and does not mind cats.

Nessie loves the water. She would be a great dog to take on the boat or to the dog beach. Nessie does not jump on people and is well mannered. She knows basic commands such as sit and lay down. She's a great cuddler and will follow you all around the house. She is a big girl and would do best with older children, as she can be a bull in a china shop.

Nessie is quite the barker and startles easily. She loves her walks, playing with other dogs as well as playing fetch. Nessie will need some help learning how to walk on a leash without pulling.

Nessie requires a certain diet in order to avoid an upset stomach, but it is not prescription, and is just based upon certain proteins.

Nessie sleeps in a crate but is able to be let loose in the house as long as she has been exercised.

Her new owner will help her along in her weight loss journey as she is 95 pounds!

Nessie is microchipped, has received all of her core vaccines, is heartworm negative, and spayed (actually had the gastropexy procedure done), and is waiting to find her forever home. She is fostered in Englewood. To meet Nessie, please complete an adoption application at https://www.love4pawsfl.org/adoption-process.

More about this rescue

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.

Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
