Meet Mavis, a 3-year-old bull terrier with a heart as strong as her spirit. Life hasn`t always been kind to her, she came to the shelter severely underweight and with an old injury to her hind leg that might leave her with a unique gait for life. But don`t let that fool you, Mavis is as active and playful as ever! She doesn`t let her past or injury slow her down, and she is ready to embrace a bright future filled with love, adventure, and belly rubs. Mavis is resilient, affectionate, and looking for a family who can appreciate her courage and give her the second chance she deserves!

Additional adoption info
We encourage everyone interested in adopting a new pet to come visit the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter to view the wonderful selection of cats, dogs and small animals we have available for adoption. When you see an animal you are interested in, come in as soon as possible as we are first come, first serve and are unable to place HOLDS on pets over the phone.
Speak to an Adoption Counselor at our Adoption Center regarding your interest to adopt and they will advise you of the Hold and Adoption process. All pets adopted from our facility are microchipped, spayed or neutered and vaccinated for Rabies prior to being released to the adopter. This is required by Texas State Law for any animal adopted from an animal shelter or rescue group. We do allow out of area adoptions as long as the selected pet is old enough to receive these services prior to being released to the adopter.
