My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hefty is a handsome 4-year old male Siamese kitty who was brought to the HSOV on June 11, 2024 for a very sad reason since his owner had passed away recently. Three of his companions (Bruce Willis, Diva, and Leeloo) were also surrendered.

Hefty has a cream/ivory short smooth coat, a long chocolate brown tail, and an adorable chubby face with subtle brown shading, dark blue eyes, chocolate brown ears, and long white whiskers.

Hefty had an injury/wound in the area of his right ear when he entered our shelter and has been under the care of one of our wonderful local veterinarians for the past several months (with daily care by our compassionate HSOV kennel techs). Hefty had his final follow-up visit with his veterinarian on August 7th and was given 'a clean bill of health' and was cleared for his neuter procedure.

Hefty was neutered on August 20, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 10.1 lbs that day.

This big fella actually has a sweet, rather shy, personality though he could sometimes display a 'spicy' cat-i-tude for some reason. Perhaps he was in pain because of the wound on the right-hand side of his face/ear (and wearing the 'cone of shame' for many weeks) .. Or perhaps he is annoyed by being confined to a small cage instead of having the freedom of his very own home as he did before his owner passed away. And, after all, being in a small cage is not the 'natural habitat' of a domestic cat .. so who can blame Hefty for not being his former sweet self.

This big beautiful boy is ready to find a new home either through adoption or rescue where he will once again be loved by someone special. Please give Hefty the time to acclimate in his new home and have patience with him as he adjusts to a new life.

Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
