Strawberry ‘Banana’ Split is an adventurous, curious, and loving kitten. He already knows fetch and loves playing with shiny or noisy cat toys. Though he spends a lot of time playing, he also loves to cuddle. When you wake up, you will likely find him curled up next to you. Banana never gets tired of attention! But if attention isn’t available, he’s a pro at keeping himself entertained. Put him by a window, or give him a mouse with a bell and he is set. Banana loves wet food and being around other pets. He likes to test other animals to see if they will play with him, but if they set a boundary, he can take a hint. Likes: toys, playing, wet food, people, other cats, and small dogs, discovering his surroundings Dislikes: doing anything he doesn’t want to do. He has been around two adult cats and a small adult dog. He loves to play with them! He has not been exposed to a big or medium sized dog. He has also been exposed to a lot of people and he’s been happy to see them and accept pets. He doesn’t typically hide.
Please note that Banana has tested a faint positive for FeLV. He had an initial test 5 weeks ago and a follow up test last week. The new test was a "fainter" positive, so we think he may be testing positive from mom's antibodies still in his system and they are being filtered out. If you adopt banana, we will provide another FeLV test 4 weeks after his last test to see if he is shedding the antibodies. But until a definitive negative test, Banana can only be around cats who have a current FeLV vaccination, or not around other kitties. Please let us know if you have questions about FeLV.
Our adoption fee is $175
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Cat Interest Form on AZRAIN.ORG and, if you are selected as a prospective adopter, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet. Thank you for considering rescuing an animal in need!
