My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Koda: Your Future Best Friend!

Are you ready to welcome a bundle of joy into your life? Say hello to Koda, a delightful 3-year-old Boxer mix (b. Aug 2021) with a heart full of love and a spirit brimming with excitement!Koda is the perfect blend of playful energy and cozy cuddles. This handsome guy is not just a fetch enthusiast and an expert kisser, but also a devoted lap dog who’ll happily snuggle up next to you after a day of adventure. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and knows some commands - making him a great companion who’s ready to settle into a loving home. Koda loves his playtime and is always up for a game of fetch. His high energy means he’ll be your ideal partner for outdoor activities and daily exercise. When he’s not bouncing around, Koda is a master at cozying up on the couch and giving warm snuggles. He’s the perfect balance of active and affectionate! Koda gets along well with calm, male dogs. With a proper introduction, he might be a great addition to a home with a laid-back male canine companion. Koda is a big guy with a big personality, so he might not be the best fit for homes with young kids or small animals. He gets overly excited, which could lead to accidental knocks or stress for little ones. Koda is looking for a forever home where he can be the center of attention and have the structure and daily exercise he craves.

Whether you’re an active individual looking for a running buddy or someone who loves snuggling on the couch, Koda is eager to fill your life with joy. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this loving, energetic pup, Koda is waiting to meet you! He dreams of finding a family that can appreciate his playful nature and cherish his snuggle sessions. Come and meet Koda – he’s ready to make your days brighter and your nights cozier!

The suggested adoption donation for Koda is $400 Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.

Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.

Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.

Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.

More about this rescue

Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit organization formed in 2014 by a small group of devoted animal lovers, in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area, with many years of rescue experience wanting to make a difference in the lives of dogs. Our rescue focuses on small breed dogs, less than 35 pounds, of any age. It is all volunteer based, and all of our rescue dogs are living in the homes of our volunteers.
Our rescue is unique in that we offer supportive services, such as education and training, to owners considering relinquishing their pet in an effort to try to keep the dog in their home whenever possible. We also educate and offer placement assistance to owners attempting to rehome their pets through social media sites, which can often be risky for the pets as well as the owners.
