My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Mona Lisa arrived at the Animal Rescue Network in March 2023 after being rescued from the streets of Laval. She had several litters outside, the last of which was a miscarriage. Beautiful Mona Lisa was tired of her life on the streets. She spent several months at the home of the person who rescued her from the streets, where she was socialized before arriving at our shelter. After this time, she came to us to continue her socialization in order to eventually finding a family. Mona Lisa took a long time to open up to us. At first, she was in a room with other cats and was frozen in fear. We put her in a small condo by herself, and that's when she began to trust herself and us again. She is now visited by her condo neighbor, Koko, and likes him very much. She could therefore cohabit with another cat if he's gentle, calm and doesn't constantly seek contact. Otherwise, she'll be a good single cat. She wants to be approached gently, to sit close to you. She's happy to be stroked and pushes her little muzzle against our hand so we don't stop. She even purrs! She really is an extremely gentle cat. She doesn't like to be handled and will need a lot of patience to adapt to a home, but we're confident that with hard work and time, she'll blossom into a perfect little kitty. She won't be able to live with children or a dog. She needs peace and understanding. Mona Lisa is an adult cat, therefore the adoption fees for her are $290. She is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukemia (FeLV). You will also be provided with health insurances for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the support of the adoption team for as long as you need it. You will also have access to a free 30 minutes video consultation during the first month following the adoption with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All new adoption homes are carefully screened to determine if they are suitable. There is an adoption fee that includes the sterilization, initial vaccination of every animal, testing for FIV and FeLV of all cats at the shelter, and a 21 days trial period. A contract is always signed between the ARN and the adopter for their protection. A follow-up by an ARN adoption coordinator is often done either by telephone or by visit, and we also offer help/cousel for the life of the cat.
