My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Presto is a 14-pound, 12-week-old shepherd/husky mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This sweet and loving pup isn't shy about letting you know what he needs, often being vocal to communicate his desires.

Presto is incredibly smart and enjoys all the attention, making him an ideal fit for a home without other dogs or perhaps with an older dog. He has a knack for creating distractions to get the focus away from his brother, Reed, and onto himself.

Presto is pad trained but may have accidents if his pads aren’t available. He loves wrestling with Reed and chewing on plain hide bones, showing off his playful side. Despite his spirited antics, Presto is really just a big baby who will be a loyal companion for the right owner. He’s already mastered sitting for treats and his food, proving just how clever he is.

If you’re looking for a devoted and intelligent furry friend, Presto is ready to bring joy and love into your home.
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.September 16, 2024, 9:17 pm

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
